When replacing AIS, the costs are easily underestimated by comparing only the price of the transceiver. At the post remain the display, antenna tracks and connections with other equipment. The buyer needs a clear answer: which parts are changed with the station, and which can be saved. For the NSI-1000, we propose to start with a single statement, which can be read equally by the supplier and the installation organization.

For which 340 000 RUB are indicated

In our quotation, this is the price of the kit: NSI-1000T, NSI-1000D 7′′ display, NGA100 antenna with cable 20 m, VHF antenna NVA100 with mounting, GNSS bracket, data cable 5 m and power supply cable 2 m. This is a composition from the provided list, which is fixed in the specification. You do not need to add up the individual advertising prices of blocks and guess whether the screen is included.

What to send to the existing installation

• Marking the former AIS and photos of connectors from the cables.
• Distances from the block to the display, power supply input and antenna pads.
• List of devices to which data is transmitted: radar, mapping system or other equipment.
• A list of parts that are planned to be left behind, with their models and condition.

So you can see in advance that the standard data cable is not enough in length or the previous mount is not suitable. We do not consider the old line to be serviceable just because it has already been laid: its condition and admissibility of reuse are evaluated in the preparation of installation.

Separate equipment and work

In quotation, it is useful to separately coordinate the supply, dismantling of the previous block, new cable sections and commissioning. If the installation is performed by your organization, give it a statement before payment. It will be able to check the location, connections and need for additional materials while the changes are still easy to make.

Also note the documents required for the specific vessel and configuration. The inclusion of IC/RKO in the list does not replace the verification of the document itself. Manufacturer’s certificates of another approval system cannot be automatically considered the right document for your delivery.

Acceptance without dispute about composition

Upon receipt, compare the blocks and accessories with the agreed statement, fix the markings and save the documents together with the set. Checking the work after connection is made separately from the external inspection of boxes. In the application, specify whether a new system is required in its entirety or if a replacement is required while retaining part of the infrastructure: this determines the subject matter of the calculation better than simply asking to “give the price to AIS”.
