First the area and the task of the ship
For a marine VSAT project, you need an operating area and transmission and reception requirements. According to this data, the network and conditions of the service are being worked out. A single antenna diameter does not determine the available speed and does not guarantee operation on any satellite.
Specify the number of users, the programs required and the nature of the data. Working access to documents, regular reports, and major broadcasts require different discussions. The promise of unlimited traffic only makes sense as a condition of a specific tariff.
Antenna and modem - different positions
In the proposed version, a self-guided stabilized antenna of 0.61 m with a configuration of 8W is considered. iDirect iQ200 is highlighted by a separate line. Full models, hardware configurations and consistent composition are fixed in the specification.
You should not replace the body modem with the built-in iQ200Board board just because of the similar name. Also, it is not possible to assume that purchasing an antenna system automatically includes any modem, cables and connection.
Accommodation and retained equipment
For the installation site, you need information about possible obstacles, base and cable routes. This is especially important when refurbishing an existing ship. The placement of other antennas and installed equipment is taken into account in the project.
If some of the nodes are already available, list the designations and status. The ability to retain them is confirmed separately. The stabilization work does not mean that admission conditions and accommodation restrictions can not be considered.
